MKE Riffs is thrilled to announce its next live movie riffing comedy show in the style of Mystery Science Theater 3000, MKE Riffs: Atlas Shrugged Part Two. Every show, MKE Riffs host Matthew Filipowicz and a special guest comedian will perform a live running comedic commentary on some of the worst films ever made. December’s guest riffer is New York comedian Josh Bolotsky.
In ”MKE Riffs: Atlas Shrugged Part Two”, Filipowicz and Bolotsky tackle the second film in the unendurably awful film trilogy based on Ayn Rand’s far right-wing libertarian manifesto. “We didn’t think anyone could make a worse film than the complete artistic and commercial failure that was Atlas Shrugged Part One,” Matthew Filipowicz said. “Boy, were we wrong!”
For those worrying if it is necessary to have watched the first chapter of the the trilogy in order to understand the second, Filipowicz explains that “between Atlas Shrugged Part One and Part Two they replace the ENTIRE cast. So, odds are, if you’re one of the very few poor souls to have actually seen part one, it’ll actually be harder to follow.”
“If there were ever a moment that America, united, red states and blue states, cities and the heartland, was crying out to have two left-leaning comics provide a live running commentary over a failed adaptation of a famously unreadable libertarian romance novel, that moment is now,” offered Josh Bolotsky.
